(Quinoa as Ingredients)
Want to know more?
By upcycling quinoa processing waste, we will obtain new products/ingredients such as: Protein (+35%), Carbohydrates for the brewing industry, Liquor (38% vol.), Saponin and more...
Through dry fractionation of the discarded grains, we aim to obtain protein concentration of 35% or more, and as a byproduct, quinoa oil can be obtained.
There is no 100% quinoa-based supplement on the market
The carbohydrates (starch) present in the discarded grains complement the proteins. Our goal is to obtain three products: flakes to replace barley in the production of craft beers, liquor (distilled at 38% ABV), and starch as an ingredient for the plant based industry.
Extracting, concentrating, and purifying saponin from the waste of the quinoa process (peeling) is the result of four years of research and a US$250,000 budget!
Successfully extracting concentrated saponin from quinoa opens the door to serving various industries.
