Our shareholders are farmers and industrial engineers, with more than 10 years developing quinoa in Peru.

Research & development:
We are testing 60 cultivars, with the aim at crossing interesting feature cutivars, and eventually obtaining genetic lines better suited for our conditions, and the market demand.
Formerly, we are looking for bettter yields, desease tolerance, and grain quality.

JIWRA means 'quinoa' in aymara language, which is spoken around the Titicaca lake, between the South of Perú and Western Bolivia, where quinoa was originated!
The aymara zone is the natural place for growing quinoa.
The weather in Santa Rita de Siguas - Arequipa is warm and dry, perfect for the storage of grains.
It is located at 140km from our facility, about 3hr by truck to reach the port.
